Mr. Praveen Kumar

Major General

AVSM, SM, VSM, an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, was commissioned into the JAG’s Department on 04 Sep 1987. He served with 4 ASSAM REGT during OP Pawan in Sri Lanka, earning the Sena Medal for Gallantry—the only JAG officer to receive such an honor.

He has attended prestigious courses, including the Senior Command Course at Army War College, Mhow, and international programs in the USA and South Korea. Maj Gen Kumar has held every major JAG appointment and is currently the Judge Advocate General of the Indian Army. His numerous awards include the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (2021) for his contributions to military law and discipline.

Mr. Praful Bakshi

Wing Commander

an ex NDA was Commissioned as a fighter pilot in 1968. He took part in the 1971 war.He has served as an Air Craft accident investigator. He is an expert and  an Instructor in International Humanitarian Laws (Laws of Armed Conflict)/ IHL and also conducts IHL training for the three Defence Services of India along with Para Military forces and most of the State Police Forces of India. He is also the Official Defence and Security expert for media- Electronic and Print.  He is a  renowned Defence analyst seen often on television.

Mr. Kalarickal Pranchu Fabian

Ambassador

Born on September 23, 1940, this Indian diplomat served in the Indian Foreign Service from 1964 to 2000, with postings in Madagascar, Austria, Iran, Sri Lanka, Canada, Finland, Qatar, and Italy. He witnessed the Iranian Revolution firsthand and coordinated the evacuation of 176,000 Indians during the Gulf War. He represented India at various international organizations and authored two books, *Commonsense on the War on Iraq* (2003) and *Diplomacy: Indian Style*. After retirement, he held roles in academia and corporate boards, including as a professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University and board member of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers. Currently, he is involved with The Hope Project and serves as Chief Advisor of Minerva Model United Nations.

Amarendra Khatua

Ambassador

​Ambassador Amarendra Khatua is a seasoned Indian diplomat and former Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs. During his career in the Indian Foreign Service, he served in key diplomatic roles in countries like Argentina, Ivory Coast, Spain, and Colombia. He was also Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), where he advanced India’s global cultural outreach. Known for his work in peacebuilding, he acted as an interlocutor in Naga and Odisha tribal dialogues. Since retirement, he continues to contribute to academic and strategic affairs, offering mentorship and policy insights.

She serves as Associate Dean and Professor at the Jindal School of International Affairs, where she brings academic depth and policy insight to her teaching and research. With extensive experience in analyzing China’s foreign policy, strategic behavior, and its implications for India and the world, Dr. Pathak is a respected voice in think tanks, media, and academic forums. Her work continues to shape critical discussions on regional geopolitics and India’s foreign policy strategy.

​Commodore R.S. Vasan

Commodore (Retd.)

​An Alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, the Naval War College and the International Visitor Leadership Programme USA, Commodore Seshadri Vasan has a distinguished service of over 34 years in the Navy and the Coast Guard. His appointments include command of warships, two major air stations and a maritime air squadron. He has participated both in the 1971 war and IPKF operations.  He was an instructor at the Naval War College, India. Prior to retirement, he was the Regional Commander of the Indian Coast Guard Region East overseeing EEZ Patrol, SAR, Anti-Piracy, Fisheries protection, Maritime Border Control, Marine Pollution prevention and other maritime tasks in the Bay of Bengal.
