CyberPax 2024 is an avant-garde conference strategically designed to catalyze crucial dialogue at the nexus of artificial intelligence (AI), law, and geopolitics. As the global community grapples with escalating polarities and the swift march of AI advancements, the specter of a new kind of global conflict looms—one not fought with traditional weaponry, but with the sophisticated machinations of AI and technology. This evolving landscape underscores an urgent imperative: the regulation of these potent tools, which are alarmingly accessible to even the youngest among us.

Our Aim: -

CyberPax 2024 aspires to confront these challenges head-on, fostering essential discourse on the regulatory and ethical dimensions of AI as a contemporary instrument of power.

What Happened at Cyberpax' 24

CyberPax 2024 gathered luminaries in the respective fields for a high-level panel discussion on the legal and geopolitical challenges posed by AI (Artificial Intelligence) . Held at the Civil Services Officers' Institute on 8th of September, the event aimed to address critical issues such as hybrid warfare, cybercrime, and AI governance, highlighting their profound impact on global security and relations.

The panel was moderated by Ambassador K.P. Fabian, who set the tone for the discussions. Retd. Major General Praveen Kumar started the session off with an overview on AI’s role in hybrid warfare, emphasizing the legal challenges and the need for better regulatory frameworks. Retd. Wing Commander Praful Bakshi followed, shedding light on the shift to cyberwarfare and its implications for defense systems, backed by a well-structured presentation.

IPS Nidhin Valsan, with his experience in working closely with cybercrime victims, provided a unique perspective on understanding the victim's mindset and shaping preventive policies. Next, Advocate Jayesh Unnikrishnan examined gaps in cyber law, focusing on how these affect human rights, particularly for marginalized communities.

Prof. Dr. Bharti Chhiber discussed how multilateralism and AI governance intersect with gender and climate change, while Prof. Dr. Rashmi Salpekar, Dean of Vivekananda School of Law and Legislative Studies,VIPS-TC, provided insights into how academic institutions can help shape AI policy, especially in conflict zones.

Mr. Manoj Gorkela addressed privacy and national security concerns in Hindi, while Ambassador Amarendra Khatua concluded with a brief yet impactful summary urging leaders to address the issues discussed.

The event featured an interactive Q&A session with young organizers, concluding with founders Mr. Rudraksh Aneja and Ms. Jahnavi Srivastava delivering the closing notes and urging a stronger AI governance. CyberPax aims to serve as a critical platform for discussing the future of AI, law, and global governance, creating awareness and fostering dialogue on the urgent need for comprehensive AI policies.
